With Hammond's Flycatcher and Swainson's Hawk on my mind I walked along
Birabent Canyon for about two hours today. While dipping on my target
birds, I did get a nice variety of local breeders (mostly), including:
WHITE-THROATED SWIFT, HAIRY WOODPECKER, WESTERN WOOD-PEWEE, WESTERN
FLYCATCHER, COMMON RAVEN, CLIFF SWALLOW, lots of HOUSE WREN, BEWICK'S WREN,
PURPLE FINCH, LESSER GOLDFINCH, LAWRENCE'S GOLDFINCH, YELLOW-RUMPED
WARBLER, TOWNSEND'S WARBLER, ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER, YELLOW WARBLER. Best
bird, though, was a NORTHERN PYGMY-OWL.

Wim
