Marcy Hafner reported two Snow Geese at the Scott M. Matheson Wetlands Preserve: "For the last few years, they show up every winter. I found them this morning hanging around with a flock of Canada geese."
Marcy Hafner beported a *Northern Goshawk* in Spanish Valley: "immature, too large to be a Cooper's, white speckling on back, white eyebrow, brown streaking on the breast, banding on the tail. It was perched on a small tree on the edge of a field. I've never seen a goshawk here before. On rare occasions, I'll find one at a much higher elevation."
Stephen Heinrich reported a *Golden-crowned Sparrow* at the Matheson Preserve, North Ponds: "Same size as WCSP. Immature bird. Brownish upperparts, two light wing bars. More grayish than brown underparts. Lighter throat. Brownish crown with faint yellow forehead. Horn colored bill unlike bright WCSP. Heard flight call. Solid view w/20x scope at 30'. Naked eye view at 6'. "
