Observation start time: 10:00:00 Observation end time: 14:00:00 Total observation time: 4 hours
Official Counter: Jim Landau
Observers:
Visitors: no visitors.
Weather: An essentially cloudless day with a bit of haze and shimmer down by the horizon lines. Winds were light all day from the west, northwest and north - not favorable for a flight at Hamburg, which proved to be the case.
Raptor Observations: A steady, slow trickle of turkey vultures. 2 northern harriers and an osprey were the bright spots with a few sharpies, redtails and a coop for good measure. An adult bald eagle was distant to the southeast which was taken to be a local bird.
Non-raptor Observations: A Caspian tern flew over the field carrying a fish. A flyover Baltimore oriole.
Predictions: National Weather Service is calling for, "A slight chance of showers between 4pm and 5pm, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 5pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 81. East wind around 6 mph becoming light and variable."
Sounds like better odds for a flight that the way today panned out. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Jim Landau (<landaujr...>)
