The Sunday morning migration bird walk produced 66 species at Ft. Harrison State Park, Indy, on April 28th. Highlights included a female Wood Duck and her 10 chicks along Fall Creek, our first Ruby-throated Hummingbird of the year, Green Heron, Barred Owl, Great-crested Flycatcher, Eastern Kingbird, male and female Scarlet Tanager, Rose-breasted Grosbeak, and 18 species of warblers. A lot of heard-only or brief visual observations today. A singing Blackburnian would not show but many in the group got to see Prothonotary, Cerulean, and Blue-winged warblers. The complete list is below.
There will be a bird walk each Sunday in May at Fort Harrison. Meet at 8am in the NE corner of Delaware Lake parking lot.
