There's a guy local that makes these as well. Lots of companies and websites offer them. He has people convinced hummingbirds would use them. This kind of adjustment also goes for Walmart and other companies that sell nest boxes for wrens with a 7/8 inch hole for House Wrens and sell them in 30 states that do not have House Wrens. People buy them for themselves and as gifts and a Carolina Wren needs a 1 1/4 inch hole. To expect a Carolina Wren to use a hole for a House Wren is like expecting your Saint Bernard Dog to come through the cat door. You have a responsibility to call this to the store managers attention when you see it and not just grab your binoculars to get lost in the wilds looking for birds.
