Weather: Morning rain delayed the start of the count. Overcast skies afterwards except for some brief sun in the early afternoon. Strong and gusty southwest winds that shifted WSW. Counted conducted from next to the platform due to wind.
Raptor Observations: Once the rain cleared out a big raptor flight picked up. Overall the flight was low due to the strong winds, with many birds giving close views as they zipped past. We ended up with just over a hundred vultures. A decent harrier flight with 18. A good Accipiter flight with 81 sharpies and 9 Coops, with many low, close looks.
A strong Red-tailed Hawk flight with 55 including a few 'northerns'. Two red-shoulders, a dozen broad-wings, and a light-morph juvenile rough-legged. For falcons we had ten kestrels and two merlins.
Hawk Watch: Caspian Tern, 5 Common Terns, 10 additional Sterna sp., Common Loon, 2 Common Ravens, 3 Barn Swallows. https://ebird.org/checklist/S168290548
