Weather:
Morning rain and fog delayed the start of the count. Overcast skies with
one brief brighter period with a bit of sun in the midday. Light easterly
winds strengthened and shifted more southerly.

Raptor Observations:
Raptor activity was low in the morning. A slow but steady flight picked up
in the afternoon. Only 73 Turkey vultures. Small numbers of harriers,
sharpies, and kestrels. A few sharpies passed close to the platform. One
Peregrine Falcon.

East Spit: 8 Blue-winged Teal, Dunlin, 5 Northern Rough-winged Swallow.

Predictions:
TOMORROW: Cloudy and windy with occasional rain, mainly in the morning.
Morning high of 61F with temps falling to near 50F. Winds SW at 20-30mph.
Chance of rain 90%. Winds could occasionally gust over 40mph. A good wind
direction but a bit strong. The flight may also depend on how much and how
quickly it clears up after the rain. Hard to predict.

SATURDAY: Cloudy and windy with rain ending in the afternoon. High around
50F. Winds WNW at 25-35mph. Chance of rain 90%. Higher gusts possible.
Gloomy conditions and overly strong winds. Expect light migration.

SUNDAY: Rain likely. High 51F. Winds S at 5-10mph. Chance of rain 80%.
Expect minimal migration due to rain.
