Subject: [sbcobirding] UCSB Birding April 10
Checked several spots this morning and dipped on most of them.  No Surfbirds at Campus Point--in fact not much of anything at all.  The Bottlebrush trees behind the Counseling and Career Center still have a fair number of hummingbirds, mostly Allen's/Selasphorus sp., but one handsome male Rufous Hummingbird remains. I spent considerable time at Area K (and L), scoping at great length to try to spot a Blue-winged Teal that others have reported.  No luck there, but I had a nice flock of 9 White-faced Ibis fly in.  Cinnamon Teal continue in both Areas K & L and there is at least 1 pair of Green-winged Teal there as well.
