- Comments: "Warbler acting similarly to a nuthatch, creeping along tree trunks and branches. Striking black-and-white plumage with bold head stripes and a pale white throat. Occasionally giving a repeated high-pitched, thin call notes. Female/imm male type."

- Comments: "continuing first winter bird seen in the red flowered bottle brush tree by the plant nursery. I was here for over 40 minutes and only saw the bird once for about a minute. It mostly stayed hidden in the leaves and behind flowers. Brief open looks showed a yellow face with a dark eyeline that was slightly wider/more prominent than a nearby Orange-crowned Warbler. The throat, chest, and belly were yellow and the undertail coverts were long and white. The crown looked greenish. I do not recall seeing the back. The bill was basically thin and pointed."
