Las Gallinas is very active right now. Yesterday we had 74 species including 2 Bald Eagles, 3 sightings of Peregrines, Kestrels, Hooded Mergansers, huge flock of Cackling Geese with a few Snow Geese mixed in. The outer field still had water which brought in big flock of dunlins and other peeps, a few dowitchers and Gadwalls. What was missing was the usual array of ducks in the ponds however. While there were some, not as many that I am used to seeing.
