Subject: [ia-bird] 5 Merlins!
Last night (1/7) just before sunset (ss 5:01pm) between about 4:50 and
5:00pm there were five Merlins present in Glendale Cemetery in Des Moines.
They were spread out around the grounds from a tall pin oak in Block K near
the pond to the multi-trunked black cherry in Block 36. In between there
was one each in the spruce with the forked top in Block 20, the
storm-damaged locust in Block K, and the large English oak in Block 33D.
The weather was cold and heavily overcast. Under similar conditions the
day before, I only saw one Merlin at the same time of day.
