Lots of sparrow. I reported 60 Whitr-throated, but that was a low estimate. At the coffee shop,I spied junco in a tree with a jet black head.It glee to the ground at to me looked like a full-blooded Oregon. Near the northend of the preserve I saw what looked like a rufous field sparrow but with a brighter gray face, very distinct wing bars, and a yellow lower mandible, Mu first American Tree Sparrow. unfortunately I only saw it for a few seconds. Despite gloved my fingers were nearly numb, and so wanted to get back to the car,
A personal highlight was two Winter Wrens on a large log by the stream. They were completely in the open for several seconds. I so often miss them.
