Subject: [SanDiegoRegionBirding] New spot for Little Stint, 1/7
On very rare occasions I've seen Stint Vicious in other ponds or just other
corners of pond 23 but I just now found it in 20 off the W tip of the
island that's E of the "dirt-salt" with about 150 Westerns. The viewing
from the bike path here is actually very good. Closer, and the fence dips
here, so you're actually looking over it, not through it.

This is the pond that is periodically lowered a half mile NE of 13th
Street. It's not lowered now but there's enough shoreline around the island
to keep the peeps busy. I'm not sure if the water level will remain stable
or if it's being lowered or raised.

The monthly meetings of San Diego Field Ornithologists (SDFO) are currently virtual, open only to members, at 6pm on the third Tuesday of every month.

Two notable on-line resources are available for San Diego birders: the San Diego County Bird Atlas by Phil Unitt (2004) - http://sdplantatlas.org/BirdAtlas/BirdPages.aspx ; and an update of notable records for San Diego County (2002–present), compiled by Paul Lehman - https://bvaudubon.org/birding-resources/ .
