From Jim BairSPOTTED TOWHEE. Bluff Point SP, Groton. A group of us saw the reported Spotted Towhee near post 14 at about 3:15 PM today (Friday). The bird is slightly to the right of the numbered post as you face it, It spends most of the time hiding in the thicket with some Eastern Towhees and White-Throated Sparrows. Be patient. It does seem to like the sumacs there. Also for some reason EBird says this is in Niantic--it is not, it is in Groton.
