As is tradition, our Ithaca Christmas Bird Count will be held on New Year's Day, Wednesday, January 1, 2025. If you are interested in taking part in this wonderful and useful citizen science project, I will list two website pages with information, one general and one specific to Ithaca. The first is the general page at the National Audubon site: https://www.audubon.org/community-science/christmas-bird-count/join-christmas-bird-count More specific to our area is the page on our Cayuga Bird Club site which shows areas of coverage and links to the 9 area leaders and related information: https://sites.google.com/site/cbc14850/resources/christmas-bird-count?authuser=0 You may email any of the leaders to let them know of your interest in participating. If you are interested in counting your feeder birds (and staying warm!) there are instructions for that as well.
