Subject: LONG-TAILED DUCK AND RED-BREASTED MERGANSER AT BEAVER DAM
A Long-tailed Duck and a Red-breasted Merganser were associated with a raft of Common Goldeneyes (17) at Beaver Lake dam at mid-day today. It was a calm day. Our view was from Dam Site Lake Boat Ramp, looking north, with birds about 1/3 mile out. I got some horrible photos, but the weather was calm and we had satisfactory views through the spotting scope. No long tail, of course. It looked like an adult female winter plumage. https://ebird.org/checklist/S206126520<https://nam11.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Febird.org%2Fchecklist%2FS206126520&data=05%7C02%<7Carbird-l...>%7C952b828f838f4d8ff19308dd220c4bd9%7C79c742c4e61c4fa5be89a3cb566a80d1%7C0%7C0%7C638704158381213114%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJFbXB0eU1hcGkiOnRydWUsIlYiOiIwLjAuMDAwMCIsIlAiOiJXaW4zMiIsIkFOIjoiTWFpbCIsIldUIjoyfQ%3D%3D%7C0%7C%7C%7C&sdata=moG8edM%2BHzRn0%2BPH6ZBBOc4AMzdhit2EAodMFjXBdWs%3D&reserved=0>. The Red-breasted Merganser looked like a juvenile or maybe adult non-breeding female.
