- Comments: "Continuing. Torn on whether to put one or two. This bird flew back and forth from reeds to reeds across narrow channel, perching here (35.2657787, -120.6935859). At one point it seemed that two flew across. But maybe the one snuck across without me seeing then flew back yet again. Small orangish bittern. Immature plumage. Photos"

White-throated Sparrow (Zonotrichia albicollis) (1) CONFIRMED
- Reported Sep 02, 2024 06:30 by Kevin Zimmer
- KJZ yard, Garcia Rd, Atascadero, San Luis Obispo, California
- Map: http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&t=p&z=13&<q...>,-120.7064838&<ll...>,-120.7064838
- Checklist: https://ebird.org/checklist/S193867183
- Comments: "Continuing tan-striped individual, one of 6 that wintered in our yard (present since late October of 2023), and the only one that didn't migrate out in early May. It was seen by Susan almost daily for the 3 weeks that I was in Namibia/Botswana/Zambia. The bird seems to have replaced most of its rectrices (which were very stubby when I last saw it in early August), but still appears to be molting and somewhat ragged in plumage. Photos to be uploaded later."
