Tonight about 8 PM we heard a Great Horned Owl calling that sounded close. I looked out my side window to see it perched on my neighbor's roof. It called again and I heard a distant call answer.
The owl then flew to a snag along the creek behind my house. We could see it's silhouette against the sky. Each time it called it leaned forward. I did not hear the second owl at that time. It flew off away from the creek and we lost sight of it.
It is the first time in quite a few years that I have seen a Great Horned Owl here.
