Great sign in an age of runaway development. Hope it's a sign of good
things. Is your area getting more developed, or you simply haven't seen
them for a while for another reason, do you think? Not long ago, there was
one here in Bethlehem, Northampton County near Niskey Hill Cemetery, a
well-vegetated yet small urban area within a sprawled larger urban area. It
could show adaptation to us. Hopefully, they are not being forced to
adapt because their more desired habitat is being developed. Yet that is
happening. Look at the PA goshawk. Could be a sign of juvenile wandering or
a bumper crop of Barreds as well. Those are my non-owl expert thoughts.
Please don't quote me. Scott Weidensaul? Congratulations! Exciting! Grant S.
