Subject: [GeneseeBirds-L] Piffard & Greenway: Least Sandpiper et al
The were a couple Least Sandpipers this morning in the flooded part of the horse farm along the greenway south from Chanler Rd.; also one each Spotted and Solitary Sandpipers and a couple Yellowlegs. Other new arrivals there include a Catbird and a House Wren; their Barn Swallows have taken up residence as well.
Along Flats Rd. (near Piffard) there was a nice flock (c. 30) of Pipits as well as a mix of Yellowlegs, Solitary & Pectoral Sandpipers and one Snipe. Yesterday there was group of 14 or more Snipe that flushed up in all directions - more than I’ve ever seen at once.
