This evening I counted 109 American Avocets at the north end of Praire Pond on the east side of Fountain Grove CA. This is just across from Che-Ru Lake on the east side. According to Mark Robbins book the Status and Distribution of Birds in Missouri, printed in 2018, this would be a record high number for the State. Don't know about more recent high counts?
