I have had where I am standing very close to a bird calling and Metlin does not recognize it. First time it happened was a Red Bellied Woodpecker calling often, loudly and close and Merlin never noticed it.I have had where Metlin ticks off birds that I never heard, but not sure if it was a sound too far for me to hear or it is confused. It has listed birds when I can't hear any.With all of that said, I like Metlin. While not perfect I like that it thinks there is a bird nearby and that alerts me to visually look for it. I also like the confirmation by Metlin when i hear and ID a bird through call/song.
