Despite the recent north winds, shorebirds continue to trickle into the Sioux Falls area. Within the last week, the following have been observed near SF: Marbled and Hudsonian Godwits, Lesser and Greater Yellowlegs, Baird's and Pectoral Sandpipers, American Golden-Plovers, Wilson's Phalaropes, American Avocets, Wilson's Snipe, and a Black-necked Stilt. Passerines like Purple Martins, Barn and Tree Swallows, Brown Thrasher, and various sparrows are also showing up now.
Always fun when migration starts picking up. Looking forward to getting out and enjoying it with folks on the 27th.
