This evening I viewed and photographed the Calliope Hummingbird in the company of Libby Patten and Henri Truchassout (who originally found and reported it.) It was not in the Pride of Madeira shrubs but rather among the magenta salvia blossoms more or less in front of the shrubs. The light was already quite low. I live very close to the park and had already searched for it on two earlier occasions. Also in the shrubbery were at least one female Anna's Hummingbirds. There were also 10 very young Mallard ducklings in the stream leading into the pond.
