Subject: [sbcobirding] Goleta Slough - Cattle Egret etc
Hi all,

I had one Western Cattle Egret getting into breeding plumage with the
orange patches coming in nicely but legs still mostly black. It was in the
small section of wetland west (across the path) from Areas L & M. This is
CDFW property that doesn’t have an “Area” assigned to it.

Not much else of note in the other sections of the slough, but nice to see
more shorebirds coming in (7 GY, 30 dows, 8 leasts) and my FOS Ash-throated
flycatcher. No sign of Blue-winged Teals today, but I had Cinnamons in
every section I checked.

Good birding,
