I stopped at the "White City Lagoons" yesterday (4/11/24) and spotted a fine male Blue-winged Teal, along with all the Northern Shovelers, Green-winged Teal, and other usual ducks. Unfortunately it flushed as I walked along the dike, but hopefully it will return. There were also a few Dunlin, Greater Yellowlegs, and some small peeps that were likely Least Sandpipers, but were too distant to confirm.
Meanwhile, Ashland seems to be experiencing a wave of migrating Lincoln's Sparrows. I saw three along the Greenway yesterday, and a group of half-a-dozen popped up in response to spishing at North Mountain Park this morning. Always a treat to see these elegant little sparrows.
