It was overcast and cool with on and off rain and some wind. Best highlights include the return of Purple Gallinules, a Tricolored Heron, and nesting Anhingas. Here is our list for today: Black-bellied Whistling Duck - 29 Canada Geese – 4 Wood Duck - 7 Gadwall – 4 American Wigeon - 1 Blue-winged Teal - 94 Northern Shoveler - 31 Ring-necked Duck – 7 Hooded Merganser - 1 Ruddy Duck - 4 Pied-billed Grebe – 14 Neotropic Cormorant - 8 (Several sitting on nests) Double-crested Cormorant - 35 Anhinga - 86 (Several sitting on nests. Several males displaying.)
