Weather:
Quite warm with temps rising from 51°F to 77. Low southerly winds began
with an easterly component and then changed to westerly at the noon hour.
Towards the last hour, clouds began rolling in bringing some relief from
those beautiful, sunny, clear blue skies.

Checklist">a href="https://ebird.org/checklist/S167927668</a></b>

Raptor Observations:
Turkey Vultures dominated and were mostly out over the lake for the first
half of the day. A couple of huge kettles formed during the 3rd hour
making it necessary to furiously count by 10's. After the top of that
hour, for some unknown reason, the flight was reduced to a crawl. Just
about all the birds were very high today. In addition to 2 local adult
Bald Eagles, a local pair came through a couple of times. For buteos,
there were only 13 migrating Red-tails, 7 Red-shoulders - and,
unfortunately, no Broad-wings :(. A couple of Osprey, 3 Northern Harriers,
29 Sharpies, 4 migrating coops, 1 Peregrine, and 3 kestrels completed
today's mix.

Non-raptor Observations:
55 cormorants and 3 Great Blue Herons flew over, a pair each of Common
Mergansers and Mallards were on the pond, 3 Tree Swallows and 1 Northern
Rough-winged Swallow flew by, and a total of 22 Northern Flickers were
counted flying northward.

Predictions:
The forecast seems to have improved a bit with the chance of rain now being
predicted to be less than 20% for most of the day. Moderate winds from the
SW look favorable. The cloud cover should help keep the birds a little
lower and easier to spot.
