Raptor Observations: Another excellent Turkey Vulture flight with many groups low directly overhead and a total of nearly 2,000. A few harriers and Accipiters. For Buteos we had 11 red-shoulders and 42 red-tails. Two kestrels. The flight line varied a bit but stayed within sight of the platform.
New species for season: Brown Creeper, Ross's Goose, Savannah Sparrow
Predictions: TOMORROW: Cloudy skies. High 58F. Winds SE shifting NE at 5-10mph. The good Turkey Vulture flight could continue. Expect light to moderate migration. Expect the park to be very busy because of the total solar eclipse, although the forecast cloud cover is a bit disheartening.
TUESDAY: Mix of sun and clouds. High 64F. Winds ESE at 5-10mph. Expect moderate migration.
WEDNESDAY: A few showers early then mostly cloudy. High near 60F. Winds W at 5-10mph. Expect light to moderate migration. ======================================================================== Report submitted by David Brown (<davidebrownpa...>) Braddock Bay information may be found at: http://www.bbrr.org/
