As posted in CalBirds, Otto Mayer, Russel Campbell, and I found a rather perfect looking Glossy Ibis candidate with no apparent strikes. Seen in a flooded field here: (33.6732161, -114.5722452). Nice white borders to dark blueish gray facial skin that don’t wrap around eye. No pinkish hues in the stripes and no purplish tones to face. Additionally no reddish tones in knees or bill. Eye appeared chestnutty in direct sunlight, but otherwise looked dark and certainly not red. Will review and upload pics soon, but in the field and from BOCs it looks pretty clear for Glossy.
