While hiking along the cliff at Bodega Head on April 4th, I noticed a small gull swimming in the water pretty far out. I wasn't able to ID it in the field, and upon review of my heavily cropped images, I believe I have narrowed it down to either Bonaparte's Gull or Black-legged Kittiwake. I'm thinking immature Black-legged Kittiwake based on the black bar on its nape, though I have seen a few images of Bonaparte's Gulls with a darker patch there as well. I am curious what others think.
