4/3/2024 Milford, Connecticut Audubon Coastal Center. high tide-receding, overcast, raining, 40F, very windy. A few visitors today , even during the rain storm. Viewed from inside the building: On the marsh: 2 Canada Geese, Female osprey was on the nest and the male flew in around noon, 6 American Black ducks, 4 Green winged teal in the mudflats, 6 Gadwall, 3 Oystercatchers on the mudflats, 2 mallards, 2 Mute swans. On the grounds & feeders: 12 House finches, 5 Mourning doves, 2 White throated sparrows, 16 House sparrows, 1 Song sparrow-very reddish tinge to the feathers, 2 Red winged blackbirds, 1 Mockingbirds, 2 Cardinals.
