Observation start time: 09:30:00 Observation end time: 15:15:00 Total observation time: 5.42 hours
Official Counter: David Gordon
Observers: Scott Diedrich
Visitors: Scott Diedrich visited during the early hours of the count period.
Weather: The sky ranged from clear and sunny to full clouds and snow. Temperatures remained in the low 30's throughout the day with a steady wind that kept the trees swaying. Except for snowfall at the end of the count period, there was no precipitation.
Raptor Observations: Turkey Vultures and a few Red-tailed Hawks were the main flyers today. With no movement yesterday, these birds took advantage of the favorable wind.
Non-raptor Observations: The seasonal birds of the area were present along with numerous Common Grackles that, like the hawks, were traveling north.
Predictions: Predicted is a cloudy, subfreezing day with winds blowing hard out of the west. The day will start with snow that will give way to clearing skies.
