I was wondering if NwAAS has any comments on the USFS Robert's Gap Project mentioned in Mike Masterson's (ADG) editorial last week?
I read through the FONSI and expect there will be some wholesale impacts on much of the pristine forest habitat of many birds. It would seem prudent to slow-down the logging process and develop some limitations to where and when the logging will occur.
Note: Tom Vilsack is once again the USDA Secretary; he did nothing to stop or mitigate the hog farm CAFO.

The planned construction of a wind farm in Carroll County brings this issue right to our backyards. We are in process of updating the Northwest Arkansas Audubon Society web site to reflect this. Our webmaster, Richard Stauffacher, added some critical information yesterday. https://www.nwarkaudubon.org/birds-and-wind-power.html <https://nam11.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.nwark audubon.org%2Fbirds-and-wind-power.html&data=05%7C01%<7Carbird-l...> ark.edu%7Cc499775491884729548e08db26dff464%7C79c742c4e61c4fa5be89a3cb566a80d 1%7C0%7C0%7C638146515531603332%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiL CJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000%7C%7C%7C&sdata=xvfVqQWa Lg6pUkh9LgD5gEde0Sd1J%2FB8ejsex5WxtGc%3D&reserved=0> . This links to a 32-page document; Richard included the executive summary of 3-pages in case you don't want to plow through all 32. Our President, Robin Buff, and Field Trip Leader, Taylor Long, may be adding some addition information in coming days. Our VP, Dr Joanie Patterson, will be representing NWAAS for the Carroll County project.
