Subject: [CT Birds] Coastal Center
3/8 Milford, Connecticut Audubon Coastal center, 9:45am-12noon. High
tide rising, sunny/ partly cloudy, 40F, blustery winds. The highlight
today was an immature bald eagle coasting over the marsh several times, and
flushing the ducks.
On the marsh: 22 Black ducks, 4 American Wigeons, 34 Canada Geese (far
out), 8 Gadwall, 1 Common Loon, about 10 Buffleheads.
On the grounds and feeders: 2 House finches (very vocal), 14 House sparrows
at feeders & brush piles,
3 White throated sparrows, 1 Song sparrow, 2 Mourning doves, Chickadees, 1
Carolina wren, 1 American Robin, 1 Cardinal.
