I just saw on my deck a bird that was more-or-less entirely chocolate brown, weak wing bar, retrices brown but with a white spot at the tip on the underside only. Beak was fairly robust. Probably as large as a Zono. sparrow but a little smaller than a Spotted Towhee. I can't place it. Suggestions?
