Julian (and others):

Funny, I thought about offering chocolate as rewards for tern band reads, but thought that might impugn your dignity as birders. Knowing otherwise, it's on: I will happily send chocolate to anyone who finds me ROST or COTE fledglings with bands on.

However, you insult me with talk of Hershey's, sir. I would not stoop so low.

There were two Royal terns out here this week, so folks might want to keep an eye peeled for those, too.

Thank you

Compo Beach- largest concentration of Laughing Gulls I have seen this season, at least 125 feeding offshore between Compo Beach and Cockenoe Island as well as a group coming in to roost at the tern sand spit. Also about 40 Common Terns continue at the East White Rocks area and one Roseate Tern seen and heard just off Compo’s south beach.

Dear Margaret,

I will be happy to keep an eye out at Sandy Point during the post-breeding dispersal for marked birdd. In the past couple of year's more Roseate's than normal have showed up which is nice to see and hopefully indicative of a good breeding season. I assume these are Faulkner birds, but do you have data that GGI nesters penetrate or disperse this far into the mid-sound? I assume no sightings of the returning Bridled Tern this year?

However, I like chocolate, so we should work out a quid pro quo here whereby I am paid in chocolate for each flag I find! :)

And being British, it can't be the Hershey pseudo-chocolate stuff- gotta be the real deal! So let me know, and I can send you my mailing address, or have Joan drop them off!

Willy Wonka out.
