Subject: [SanDiegoRegionBirding] Lapland Longspurs, La Jolla seawatch
Lapland Longspurs continue on Weds, and there appears likely to be
back-and-forth going on between Fiesta Island and Crown Point, which are
right across an arm of Mission Bay from each other, as has happened in
previous years. First there was 1 Lapland at Fiesta on 18 Nov, then 3
together at Crown Point on 23 Nov, and then--"just by chance"--today,
the 24th, only 1 at Crown Point but 2 at Fiesta Island! This AM at La
Jolla had 4 continuing Black Oystercatchers, the 1 continuing Wandering
Tattler, the usual thousands of Black-vented Shearwaters, and reasonable
numbers of southbound scoters and loons. But nothing rare.

The monthly meetings of San Diego Field Ornithologists (SDFO) are currently virtual, open only to members, at 6pm on the third Tuesday of every month.

Two notable on-line resources are available for San Diego birders: the San Diego County Bird Atlas by Phil Unitt (2004) - http://sdplantatlas.org/BirdAtlas/BirdPages.aspx ; and an update of notable records for San Diego County (2002–present), compiled by Paul Lehman - https://bvaudubon.org/birding-resources/ .
