Usually when I see White-winged Scoters they are far from shore, often in flight. This White-winged Scoter just off the end of the pier at the Bayfront Park parking lot, Daphne, Baldwin County, was staying pretty much in the same place. It is probably still out there right now.
This scoter was my 300th species of bird for the Alabama Gulf Coast this year - and my 281st species for Baldwin County for the year. There are a lot of birds down here.
