Subject: [CT Birds] CACC
11/10 , Milford, Connecticut Audubon Coastal Center, 10am-1PM. low tide,
rising. 58-60F, sunny, windy.
Viewed from Coastal Center building.
Several visitors today- nice to meet and greet and chat with them.
On the marsh: 46 American black ducks in several flocks-- 2 males dunking
under water, splashing and appearing to chase each other; 4 mallards, 2
Great blue herons, 1 Great Egret, 1 Northern Harrier, 15 Ring billed gulls
and 2 herring gulls. 1 Herring gull was grabbing and gobbling down hermit
crabs, 2 Common loons.
On the grounds and at bird baths:
2 Chickadees, 1 Song sparrow, 3 Yellow rumped warblers, 4 House finches ( 2
male, 2 female), flock of 30 pigeons flew over, 1 Downy woodpecker, 3
Starlings, 8 House sparrows, 1 Cardinal, 2 Robins. Full report on Ebird.
