- Comments: "Seen from the dam at 7:39 AM on the north side of the lake. A stocky brown heron with mottled brown upperparts and a bold whisker stripe. The underparts were light with long, wide brown streaks running from the belly up along the neck."

- Comments: "Likely more as we saw them at several points along the trail. Gray empids with uniform eye rings, small bills, blocky heads, long primary projection. Along the dry creek in brushy vegetation, which seems better habitat for dusky. I got photos which I hope can confirm the species."
