Observation start time: 10:15:00 Observation end time: 15:00:00 Total observation time: 4.75 hours
Official Counter: Jim Landau
Observers: Mike Zebehazy, Wendy Zebehazy
Visitors: Michael Delaney and Mike & Wendy Zebehazy.
Weather: Mild temps and light winds, unfortunately from the northwest and north for the count period. Thin sunshine and a bit of haze all day.
Raptor Observations: The ubiquitous turkey vultures and a light mix of other raptors. Two bald eagles, 2 ospreys, some red-tails, sharp-shins, Cooper's hawks and 2 kestrels.
Non-raptor Observations: Notable diversions were 3 migrating Sandhill Cranes and a brown creeper on the nearest maple tree trunk. 2 mourning cloak butterflies passed over the lawn.
Predictions: National Weather Service says, "Mostly sunny, with a high near 70. Calm wind becoming north around 5 mph in the afternoon." Sounds like a pleasant day although the temps will be lower at the watch due to our proximity to Lake Erie. Those north winds may dampen down the flight. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Jim Landau (<landaujr...>)
