3/30 Milford, Connecticut Audubon Coastal Center 9:45am-11:15am. low
tide -rising, sunny, no wind.
On the marsh: 1 Great Egret, several Green winged teal, 4 Buffleheads,
about 24 American Black ducks, 8 Northern Shovelers, 5 Red breasted
Mergansers.
On the paths and grounds: 12 Mourning Doves, 1 Fish Crows, 4 American
crows, 15 Common Grackles, Song sparrows, White throated sparrows, House
sparrows, 1 Cardinal, 2 Mockingbirds, 4 Chickadees, 1 Red winged Blackbird.
On the Long Island sound side: 1 Common Loon, 4 Tree swallows (2 entering
and exiting a nest box),Brant, about 300 Sanderlings, about 60 Dunlin, 6
American Oystercatchers- (4 flying together and a separate pair doing head
bobbing), 4 Piping plovers (a pair and 2 singles), Ring billed and Herring
gulls.
