Today I saw a pair of Eared Grebes at Big Creek Lake near the swimming beach. Later at Bob Shetler recreation area below the dam at Saylorville I saw 20 Red-breasted mergansers at the eastern-most pond. Also heard a Phoebe there. Looked for the Fish Crow at various places at Saylorville, but did not find it. Thousand of ducks were present at Saylorville including many Green-winged Teal males making their frog-like call.
