Subject: [NHBirds] Peregrine in the Girdled White Pine
Linda went out to clean some leaves from the garden this morning about 10
AM and was distracted by the Red-shouldered Hawk that’s been calling and
displaying overhead this week. When she glanced over at the girdled white
pine in the front yard she noticed a hawk with its back to her and she came
inside to confer with me. A quick check revealed it to be an adult female
Peregrine Falcon, the first to ever be observed perching in the yard.

After about ten minutes of frantic picture taking by Linda, the falcon
stretched her wings and took off headed north, just as the denizens of the
two landscaping trucks parked across the street emerged to begin their
unholy Spring rituals.
