For the past two years I have had a robin nesting in my front rhododendron bush- it's very thick, so it provides good cover. Not sure if it's the same returning bird, but the nest has been in the same location in the bush. I can watch it from the front window. However after the eggs are laid, the next day , the eggs are all gone. I figure a small local predator has watched it, and then takes the eggs. My question is - If this is the same nesting bird...how many years will it continue to build a nest in the same location, when its eggs are taken? Does it remember from year to year, that its eggs were taken?
