Subject: [ia-bird] Mt Sterling-Van Buren County -Greater White Fronted Geese
About 125-150 Greater White-Fronted Geese were on the wetlands at Mt.
Sterling. Shovelers, coots, Canada geese, mallards and some Bufflehead also
seen. About 30 Am. White Pelicans were also observed, but no Trumpeter
Swans. The Bald Eagle was sitting on its usual nest and a Rough-legged Hawk
was seen. A dark morph RL Hawk was seen along the county road west of the
wetlands as we came from Cantril. Beautiful day to be out and about.
