Subject: Franklin County Winter
Hello all. I have had some amazing key species this winter. What an interesting start and I’m eager to see how far it goes. Along with the usual species I’ve had:

Townsend’s Solitaire
Rufous Hummingbird (Female)
Cape May Warbler (Juv)
Northern Parula (Female)
Evening Grosbeak (Female)
Common Redpoll (Female)
Dickcissel (Male) 2nd winter record
White-winged Crossbill
Iceland Gull (Cumberland Co)
Rough-legged Hawk (Light Phase Male)

I actually saw the parula during a snow storm on January 31st. Those are two things I never thought I’d ever see together. What a wonderful start to hopefully a wonderful year. With so many great anomalies I felt l had to share.

Thanks so much,
Chris Blazo- Franklin County
