I stopped briefly at a pullout near the dam at Almaden Reservoir near New Almaden in San Jose today at 2:00PM. I counted at least 70 Common Mergansers, along with a number of Double-crested Cormorants, Bufflehead, Mallards, and a few Ring-necked Ducks.
