Subject: Over-wintering hummingbird numbers
Many of you have asked about the numbers of Ruby-throated hummingbirds we
have in the yard lately.

For the CBC on Dec. 27 we had 21 hummingbirds - all Ruby-throated and of
which there were four adult males (we usually have 1 or 2 for the entire
winter so this is a new treat for us).
The total number of Hummers is about at the average as we can usually
expect 20+ with us until April or May.

Ask me about my upcoming book - a photo essay of select breeding
hummingbirds in North American and The Bahamas!
